ISMS Advocates for Physicians on Proposed Rules for Network Adequacy Law

May 13, 2022

The Illinois Department of Insurance (DOI) recently released proposed rules to implement the Network Adequacy and Transparency Act (NAT Act). As the rules are not yet final, ISMS continues to advocate for physicians during the rulemaking process and was recently given the opportunity to comment.

Last week we delivered our comments on the proposed administrative rules and asked that the DOI incorporate our recommendations to address the issues we identified that are of importance to doctors. We also applaud the DOI for its work on this important matter to ensure the NAT Act is fully implemented.

If you believe a health insurer is in violation of the NAT Act, you are encouraged to file a complaint with the DOI.

We will keep you informed of any new developments. If you have questions, please contact ISMS Senior Vice President of State Legislative Affairs Erin O'Brien by email.
