Chicago Dermatologist New President, Illinois State Medical Society

CHICAGO – Clarence William Brown Jr., M.D., J.D., became president of the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) during its recent Annual Meeting.

Dr. Brown is board-certified in dermatology and founded the Advanced Skin and Mohs Surgery Center, where he serves as President and CEO while remaining in active clinical practice.

An ISMS member for 25 years, he previously held the offices of ISMS trustee and vice-president and served on several ISMS councils. Dr. Brown is also an active member in the American Academy of Dermatology, the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Chicago Dermatological Society. He is a member of the Chicago Bar Association and Illinois State Bar Association.

Dr. Brown earned his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, and a fellowship at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He also completed a Juris Doctorate degree at the John Marshall Law School, Chicago.

Dr. Brown’s term as ISMS president will run through April 2023.
