Attention Physicians Who Dispense Controlled Substances, Other Medications

July 18, 2025

The Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program (ILPMP) is announcing a transition to the ASAP 5.0 format. This change will impact data submitters who report II-V controlled substances and other select drugs.

To help with the changeover for physicians and other healthcare professionals who dispense these medications, the ILPMP is hosting 30-minute educational webinars. Register now for webinars taking place July 22 and July 24.

You may also access the 2025 ILPMP Submitters Guide and ASAP 5.0 to learn more.

ASAP 5.0 format will become mandatory for all data submitters on Dec. 16, 2025. Mandated reporters must submit a test file prior to this start date. Test files are now being accepted.

Please note: Testing of the new format needs to be completed with LogiCoy, the vendor that will manage the technical aspects of data collection. Files must be cleared by LogiCoy before anything is to be sent in the ASAP 5.0 format.

Schedule your testing by contacting ILPMP by email. You may also email the ILPMP with your questions or contact the ISMS Health Policy Research and Advocacy team.
