New HelpLine Offers Immediate Services for Anyone with Opioid Use Disorder

For patients who may need immediate treatment for opioid use disorder (OUD), the Illinois Department of Human Services has rolled out a new program called “MAR (Medication Assisted Recovery) NOW.”

Anyone, including pregnant individuals, can call the program’s helpline to be connected to a MAR NOW care manager for fast access to medication and counseling services for OUD. The program makes it possible for anyone in need to speak directly with a healthcare professional over the phone right away, receive a prescription or expedited, in-person appointment and obtain transportation assistance to the pharmacy or clinic – all initiated through one phone call.

The number to call is 833-234-6343 (or 833-2FINDHELP).

MAR NOW operates 24 hours a day.
