Biographical Information:

Clarence W. Brown, Jr., MD, JD, is a board-certified dermatologist and currently practices at the Advanced Skin and Mohs Surgery Center, out of Chicago, IL and St. Joseph, MI, where he is the Medical and Surgical Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery.

An ISMS member for 22 years, he previously served as a trustee of ISMS and was elected president-elect in April 2021. His term of office as president will begin in April 2022.

Dr. Brown received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He completed his residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, Chicago, IL and a fellowship at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. He also completed a Juris Doctorate degree at the John Marshall Law School in Chicago, IL.

Professional Involvement:

Dr. Brown currently serves on the ISMS Medical-Legal Council. He previously sat on the Council on Communications.

He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology; American College of Mohs Surgery; American Society of Dermatologic Surgery; and International Society of Dermatologic Surgery. He currently serves on the Audit Committee of the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery and as a member of the Business & Operations Support Task Force of the American Academy of Dermatology; he has also chaired the Website Committee of the American College of Mohs Surgery.

Biographical Information:

Dr. Alford earned his medical degree from Loyola University Medical School in 1982, and completed a combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency at Cook County Hospital. He has been practicing for 28 years in Kankakee County.

Professional Involvement:

An ISMS member for over 25 years, Dr. Alford has served as a Delegate from Kankakee County for more than 20 years. He has served as president of the Kankakee County Medical Society, and is an Illinois Delegate to the National Medical Association. Dr. Alford serves on the ISMS Delegation to the AMA.

 
Thomas M. Anderson, MD

Biographical Information:

Thomas M. Anderson, M.D., is board certified in diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine and serves full time at the University of Illinois at Chicago Medical Center.

He is on staff at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where he chaired the Department of Radiology for 20 years and is now a senior attending radiologist. He is also a clinical assistant professor of radiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed both his internship and residency at the University of Chicago Hospital. His fellowship was served at Michael Reese and the University of Chicago Hospitals. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners, the American Board of Radiology and the American Board of Nuclear Medicine.

Professional Involvement:

Active in ISMS since 1975, Dr. Anderson serves on the Council on Economics. He has also served on the Medical Legal Council and the Committee on CME Activities. He is a former president of the Chicago Medical Society and a member of its Board of Trustees. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Radiology, the Illinois Radiological Society, the Chicago Radiological Society and numerous other specialty societies.

Dr. Anderson is dually board-certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, and is a member of the Peoria Surgical Group. He is a member of the medical staff at Methodist Medical Center of Illinois, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Perry Memorial Hospital and Proctor Hospital. He holds multiple academic positions with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, including chief of the section of cardiothoracic surgery.

Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a fellowship at Washington University’s Barnes Hospital.

Professional Involvement:

Active with ISMS since 1989, Dr. Anderson has served as a member of the Peoria Delegation to the ISMS House of Delegates. He currently serves as Board Chair. He belongs to the Peoria Medical Society, where he has served in numerous positions, including two terms as president. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, currently serving as president-elect of its Illinois Chapter. He is also a member of the American Cancer Society and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.

Biographical Information:

Christine Bishof, M.D., M.P.H. is board certified in emergency medicine. Dr. Bishof is part of Envision's EmBassador Travel Team and practices at multiple hospitals throughout Illinois.

A member of ISMS since 2001, Dr. Bishof is currently serving on the Council on Economics and on the EMSC Advisory Board. Biographical Information:

Dr. Thomas is a professor of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. He is also board-certified in facial plastic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Thomas practices at Northwestern Medicine, Chicago, where he is a professor of otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at the Northwestern Feinberg School of Medicine. He earned his medical degree from University of Missouri School of Medicine.

Dr. Thomas has been a member of ISMS since 2001. He is the past president of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS), past president of the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, and past president of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. He also served as the president of the Chicago Otolaryngology specialty organization. He presently serves as the AAFPRS delegate to the American Medical Association.

Dr. Thomas has published seven textbooks on facial plastic surgery, along with more than 200 textbook chapters and scientific studies. He previously worked as a television medical reporter and maintains his membership in the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists.

I served as the ISMS Vice-President in 2015-2016. I have served on several committees for ISMS, including the Council on Membership and Advocacy, which I chaired. During my training, I served as both the medical student and resident trustee on the ISMS Board. I chaired the Medical Student, Resident, and Young Physician sections of the AMA. I have served on reference committees at AMA and ISMS, chairing one for ISMS. Biographical Information:

Dr. King is Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Chair of the Department of Health Sciences Education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Rockford. He is also a practicing family medicine specialist at SwedishAmerican Hospital and Mercyhealth Hospital in Rockford.

A graduate of Ohio State University College of Medicine, Dr. King completed his residency training in family medicine at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He has extensive experience in residency education and has been a residency program director; he uses this knowledge and experience as part of a team training the next generation of physicians.

Professional Involvement:

Dr. King has served ISMS as a member of the Council on Medical Service and the Council on Education and Health Workforce. He has also served on numerous committees related to medical education at the University of Illinois, the Association of American Medical Colleges, and other institutions, and has long experience as a liaison between academic and organized medicine.

Dr. King has been active in the Winnebago County Medical Society for the past 13 years, having served as President (2011-2012), Vice-President (2010-2011), Secretary (2006-2010), and as a Delegate and Alternate Delegate to the ISMS House of Delegates; he currently serves as Treasurer.

Biographical Information:

Steven M. Mardjetko, MD, is a board-certified Orthopaedic Surgery specializing in spine conditions, with an emphasis on treating pediatric spinal deformities.

He currently works at Illinois Bone and Joint Institute and was the 7th member of that group, joining in 1997. He also works at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Medicine as a teaching professor and serves as site director for the UIC orthopedic residency at Lutheran General Hospital as well.

Dr. Mardjetko received his medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of Illinois Hospital and a fellowship at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center.

Professional Involvement:

An ISMS member for more than 30 years, he has served in several positions including most recently as a member of the Council on Economics. He is President-elect and serves on the Board for the Illinois Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.

Kambiz Zorriasateyn, MD Name: Kambiz Zorriasateyn, M.D.

Dr. Zorriasateyn is subspecialized and board-certified in vascular medicine. He is also board-certified in internal medicine and hospital medicine. He serves on the medical staffs at NorthShore Cardiovascular Institute, and at Evanston, Skokie, Glenbrook and Highland Park Hospitals.

Active with ISMS since 2010, Dr. Zorriasateyn received his medical degree from the National University of Iran (Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences) in Tehran, Iran and completed his residency and chief residency at University of Illinois affiliated hospitals in Chicago. He subsequently completed his fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Heart and Vascular Institute.
