The DEA’s Next “Drug Take Back Day” Is October 29!
October 13, 2022
Two-thirds of teens who misused pain medicine in the past year say that they got them from family and friends, including their home’s medicine cabinets.
This alarming statistic once again demonstrates the importance of appropriate drug disposal.
The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) will host its fall National Prescription Drug Take Back Day on Saturday, October 29 to help bring awareness about the importance of safely disposing unused or outdated controlled substance prescriptions. More than 700,000 pounds of unneeded meds were collected at the DEA’s spring 2022 event.
Encourage your patients to remove unneeded medications from their homes and bring them to a convenient collection site to help prevent medication misuse and opioid addiction.
