Special Medical Licensure Accommodations to End on October 15
September 29, 2022
Governor Pritzker recently issued a new Executive Order (EO 2022-20) to extend certain exceptions that have been allowed during the pandemic for lapsed and inactive medical licenses. The exceptions will now end on Oct. 15, 2022.
Since March of 2020, physicians whose licenses have been lapsed or inactive for less than three years have not had to provide proof of meeting continuing education requirements for one renewal period or pay a fee in order to reinstate their license (EO 2020-09). After October 15, normal requirements for renewal will be reinstated.
