Medicaid Revalidation: Act Now Before Your "Due Date"
December 6, 2024
There are consequences if the due date deadline is missed, including not being able to bill!
The Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services (HFS) is sending revalidation notices to all physicians and other healthcare professionals who are enrolled in Illinois' Medicaid program. The email notices will arrive 90 days before the date of when they initially enrolled, which is considered the "due date."
Once you receive your email notification, you must revalidate by logging into HFS' IMPACT system and verifying that all of your information is accurate and current.
Failure to revalidate will result in being removed from Medicaid reimbursement eligibility. Once removed, you will NOT be able to bill for Medicaid services. Completing revalidation in a timely manner is crucial because federal regulations do not allow for retroactive reinstatements.
Step-by-step instructions, FAQs, a video tutorial and toolkit are also available on IMPACT's website.
