A Reminder for Physicians Licensed to Prescribe Controlled Substances

If you are a prescriber, are you registered with Illinois’ Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP)?

A law that took effect at the start of 2018 requires all those licensed to prescribe controlled substances in Illinois to:

• Register with Illinois' PMP
• Document an attempt to check the PMP before writing an initial prescription of a Schedule II narcotic, such as an opioid
