Participation on ISMS Councils

Resident and fellow physician members have the opportunity to actively participate in the policy and decision making process of the Illinois State Medical Society. A resident physician serves as a voting member on each of the major councils of ISMS. This representation is extremely important as all issues and concerns facing the medical profession are addressed initially at the council level.

In April of each year, all resident and fellow members of ISMS are invited to submit an interest in being appointed to an ISMS council. These appointments then take effect for a one-year term beginning in June of each year; those appointed also serve as members of the ISMS RFS Governing Council.

Materials must be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, May 1, 2017.
