    This week the Illinois House cleared legislation with an overwhelming majority of 115-2, which would extend the sunset date of the Medical Practice Act until Dec. 31, 2014.

  • Broken Medicare Payment System Puts the Squeeze on Physicians
    True - there has been more congressional activity in 2013 than in recent years to dismantle the flawed sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula. Yet, the fact remains that a 24.7 percent Medicare payment cut is scheduled to go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.
