Congress Approves Three-Month Medicare Payment Band-Aid with Small Uptick
Posted on: 12/20/2013
On Wednesday, Congress approved a three-month Medicare "patch" that temporarily stops the looming Medicare payment slash of 24 percent scheduled for Jan. 1, 2014, and, instead, implements a 0.5 percent Medicare payment update. President Obama is expected to sign the legislation soon.

The 0.5 percent increase would be the first positive update to Medicare physician payments since 2010.
