ISMS will offer two webinars next week in a panel discussion format. Members and their employed staff can participate in both webinars for free. (All others must pay $150 to attend.) CME is also available.

Gender Equity: Why it is Important to Everyone

May 25 | Noon to 1 p.m. CT

Join ISMS’ panel discussion highlighting issues related to gender inequality in medicine and solutions for building a more inclusive physician workforce. Evidence of the “gender gap” persists across many professions, and medicine is no different. Studies show that female physicians experience salary inequities and barriers to career advancement more commonly than their male counterparts, yet women are not the only ones harmed by environments that foster gender inequality. More subtle, but of equal concern, are the potential negative effects of gender inequality on patient care.

Welcoming New Medical Residents – Considerations for a Smooth Start to the Academic Year

May 27 | Noon to 1 p.m. CT

Getting a new class of resident physicians acclimated to the processes and culture of a medical institution is challenging at any time, but especially so during a pandemic. Join us for a conversation with medical education experts and residency program directors as they discuss how to streamline administrative processes, communicate effectively and introduce incoming residents to the culture of the institution. The program will be moderated by ISMS President Regan Thomas, MD.

While this ISMS webinar is designed to help residency program directors with the onboarding process, anyone interested in medical education is welcome to attend!
