Planning to Write a Resolution? Submit by May 31 for Potential Consideration at Next Quarterly Board Meeting
Posted on: 5/16/2019

NEW: The ISMS Board now considers resolutions on a quarterly basis.

Whatever challenges you are currently facing, you can help fix the problem by submitting a resolution!

ISMS now accepts resolutions on a rolling basis all year. But if you want your resolution to be considered in time for the next quarterly ISMS Board meeting in June, please submit by Friday, May 31

Remember, ANY ISMS member can submit a resolution.

Here’s how to get started:

A resolution is a written proposal calling for an ISMS policy change, or for ISMS to take specific actions, such as supporting legislation or introducing a resolution on the national stage via the American Medical Association.

Resolution reviews begin as soon as we receive your resolution. Here’s the process:

  1. Introduce your resolution by email.
  2. Once your resolution is received, the ISMS Board Chair assigns it to an ISMS council for review/recommendation.
  3. ISMS members are surveyed for feedback on the resolution. The ISMS council then reviews the resolution, inviting the author to provide input, and develops a recommendation for the ISMS Board.
  4. The ISMS Board considers and acts upon the council’s recommendation.
  5. The Board’s action is then reviewed by ISMS membership at the ISMS Annual Meeting.

Members can view resolutions and related actions any time by visiting our Resolution Tracking webpage. This page is consistently updated as actions are taken and new resolutions come through.
