Submit Your 2017 Quality Payment Program Data; Note March Deadlines
Posted on: 1/18/2018

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) has introduced a new data submission system for eligible clinicians who are participating in the Quality Payment Program (QPP).

Physicians may submit 2017 performance data here for the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS). Once on this site, click "Sign In" at the upper right-hand corner. You will need your Enterprise Identity Management (EIDM)* credentials to sign in to the QPP.

Please note: There are different submission periods for uploading QPP data, depending on whether the data is being reported by an individual or by a group.

  • Individual physicians may submit 2017 performance data from January 2 to March 31, 2018.
  • Groups with 25 or more clinicians (including APM entities) may submit 2017 performance data from January 22 to March 16, 2018.

Once the data submission periods close in March, CMS will calculate clinician payment adjustments that will apply to the 2019 payment year. All Medicare Part B claims paid in 2019 will reflect MIPs-related payment adjustments based on 2017 submission data.

CMS has designed a new system for clinicians to meet reporting requirements under the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA). The new "single-system" makes it easier for clinicians to submit Quality Payment Program data because they now only need to access one web site instead of several.

For more information on the new data system, access CMS' Factsheet, Submitting 2017 Transition Year Data to the Quality Payment Program.
