Physicians Will Be Asked to Enroll in the PMP When Renewing Controlled Substance Licenses in 2017
Posted on: 1/3/2017
The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation website is not yet open for renewing medical and controlled substance licenses. License renewal for physicians in Illinois will begin sometime in late spring of 2017 and conclude on July 31, 2017.

Physicians renewing their controlled substance licenses during the 2017 renewal season will be asked to register in the Illinois Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP).

As many physicians already using the system know, the PMP is a valuable tool that can help to enhance their understanding of each patient’s prescription history. The program also works to combat prescription drug abuse and curb "doctor shopping." Learn more with ISMS' case study.

So why wait? Register today for the PMP!

Remember, there is no cost to enroll or to use the program.

If you have questions about the PMP, call 217-524-1311 or submit a question online via the Question Form.
