In less than four months, new federal regulations will extend overtime pay eligibility to an additional 4 million workers in the United States, including 200,000 in Illinois.

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) has predicted that health care workers will make up the bulk of those affected – which means you will need to understand and comply with these new regs if you have employees.

Last May, the DOL issued the new mandate, which will take effect Dec. 1, 2016.

To help you prepare, ISMS developed an Issue Brief, New Federal Overtime Rules. This resource covers salary thresholds; bonuses, incentive payments and commissions; “duties tests” that determine a worker’s eligibility for overtime pay; the impact on health care; and more!
