  • Submit Your Comments on Illinois Vaccination Regulations

The state is seeking comments on the new rules to regulate religious vaccination exemptions. If you treat children or want to provide “real world” input on the regulations, act now!

Rulemaking is still proceeding for the new Illinois law that requires parents or legal guardians to complete a Certificate of Religious Exemption form if they wish to exempt their children on religious grounds from required school immunizations and various examinations. The ISMS-backed legislation largely affects students who will be entering kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade for the upcoming 2016-2017 school year.

ISMS provided comments on our members’ behalf, but the state is reportedly receiving significant feedback from those who opposed the law. Additional medical and scientific input will help to ensure the state develops rules that are medically sound.

If you would like to comment on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH)’s rulemaking document, mail your comments to:

You may also email your comments to IDPH.
