    for providers who deliver
Medicaid funded services to clients enrolled in
DHFS, DHS, DCFS, IDoA and the UIC DSCC programs

The current State of Illinois Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS), in existence since the early 1980s without much change, is being replaced by the Illinois Medicaid Program Advanced Cloud Technology (IMPACT). IMPACT is a multi-agency effort to replace the current MMIS program with a web-based system that meets federal requirements and will automate the state agency’s enrollment, revalidation and information process. The transition will NOT impact billing or reimbursement.

The new system for physicians will go live Aug. 3, 2015.  Physicians who are currently enrolled in the existing MMIS program need to do nothing until the system goes live in August.  DHFS will be importing much of the existing data to the new system which will require physician revalidation between August 3 and Dec. 31, 2015. In the meantime, the state will be sending out informational mailings providing data on the process and the appropriate timelines for action.

    Resource: June 10 webinar

IMPACT will conduct a webinar for physicians and office staff on June 10 to provide greater detail on the transition and timeline for implementation.

Note for physicians enrolling in Medicaid for first time

Prior to the grand opening August 3 date for physician revalidation, the agency will be reenrolling facilities, clinics, billing entities other partners and payees. To facilitate the transition, DHFS will temporarily suspend the processing new paper applications from physicians seeking to enroll for the first time. The suspension period is  May 29- August 3.  The department assures that it will take all measures to retroactively process these applications after the new system is effective.
