  • Reminder: Request “Inactive Status” for Expired Out-of-State Licenses

Here's a tip to keep you from being caught off guard with an expired out-of-state license.

If you no longer practice medicine in a particular state, contact the licensing board for that state and request that your license be placed in inactive status.

Remember, due to background checks, credentialing or insurance company contracting, expired licenses in other states are often revealed and you may find yourself having to submit documentation that supports the expired status of the license.   Save time and embarrassment by keeping track of and suspending use of your unused licenses today.
