  • Retired? Be First in Line for New Volunteer License

GSAimgGovernor Quinn signed into law H.B. 4593, an ISMS initiative that creates a volunteer license for physicians and health care professionals who are retired from active practice and wish to provide care at free medical or public health clinics. Stay tuned: Once the final rules and regulations are adopted, the first 500 applicants will be granted a free license to practice at free medical or public health clinics. Subsequent licenses will cost a nominal fee.

Please note: Those issued a volunteer license must meet all other licensure requirements, including continuing medical education.
