  • Open Enrollment for the Affordable Care Act’s Health Insurance Marketplace for 2021 Starts in 10 Days

    opening soon

Are you already getting questions about Get Covered Illinois – the official Marketplace for Illinois under the Affordable Care Act?

If so, here are some key points to share with patients:

    • The open enrollment period for 2021 insurance will begin on November 1 and run through December 15.

    • Patients can preview 2021 plans and prices shortly before November 1 by visiting www.HealthCare.gov

If patients are re-enrolling in Get Covered Illinois, here are some tips:

    • Currently enrolled patients will be automatically re-enrolled in a similar policy for 2021 if they take no action. But they should be warned that even if the same insurance company is operating the plan, the details of most plans change from year to year.

    • Even if patients are not switching plans, it is very important that they update their income and household information.

    • Patients can ensure they have the best plan for their needs by revisiting ALL plan options for 2021

    • Finally, let your patients know they can find more information by visiting www.getcovered.illinois.gov/en.
