Illinois Physicians Urged to Own the Future
Posted on: 7/12/2013

The 2013 Membership Drive launched in April, is continuing over the summer and will extend into 2014.

Your ISMS Board of Trustees, delegates and alternate delegates have pledged to recruit members by making 10,000 contacts with non- and former-member physicians over the course of the year. That's quite a commitment!

Added to county medical society recruitment efforts, this substantial push to engage physicians in the power of organized medicine will serve to preserve the integrity of medical practice in Illinois and maintain access to care for all of our patients.

When you see an ISMS board member or delegate over the coming weeks and months, take a moment to express your appreciation for their efforts. Better yet, join their recruitment efforts by taking a few minutes to discuss the benefits of membership with your non-member colleagues. Tell them that membership is an investment in the future of medicine, and that with all the changes facing medicine today, ISMS is the voice of Illinois physicians at the negotiating table.

You can help overcome a physician's hesitancy to join by being prepared. Just login to the ISMS website where you'll find recruitment tools and resources to help you in your efforts, including talking points to debunk reasons for not joining.

If you're reading this, you're an engaged member. Deepen that commitment by inviting a colleague to join ISMS and take ownership of the future of medicine in Illinois. Thank you!
