Eldon A Trame, M.D. to Lead Illinois Association for Doctors

Oak Brook, IL – Eldon A. Trame, M.D., board-certified internal medicine specialist, was inaugurated President of the Illinois State Medical Society at its recent annual meeting here. Dr. Trame practices internal medicine at Esse Health in Belleville. He is affiliated with Memorial Hospital and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital, both in Belleville.

Dr. Trame has been a member of ISMS for more than 25 years, most recently serving as its president-elect. He formerly served as Chair of the Governmental Affairs Council. Dr. Trame holds memberships in the Alpha Sigma Nu Jesuit Honor Society, the American College of Physicians, and the American Medical Association. He has served as Illinois chair of the AMA’s Organized Medical Staff Section and is currently an ISMS alternate delegate.

Locally, Dr. Trame is very active in the St. Clair County Medical Society. He is a former president and previously chaired the Membership Committee. In addition, Dr. Trame served as president of the Southern Illinois Medical Association in 2000.

After completing undergraduate studies at Rockhurst College in Kansas City, MO, Dr. Trame earned his medical degree at the St. Louis University School of Medicine and completed his residency at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. He was an Air Force medical officer with the Internal Medicine Clinic at Scott Air Force Base, 1981-1985.

Dr. Trame’s term as president runs through April 2014.

ISMS is a professional membership association representing 11,000 physicians practicing in all medical specialties statewide. Dr. Werner is an internal medicine specialist from Chicago.
