Biographical Information:

A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Busch has been in private practice since 1975. He is on staff in the Department of Psychiatry at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Dr. Busch received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his internship at Evanston Hospital and his residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago.

Dr. Busch has consulted nationally to the U.S. State Department and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. His areas of research and publication have focused on medical professionalism and ethics, youth violence, terrorism, and national security issues.

Professional Involvement:

Dr. Busch has been a member of ISMS since 1972. He has served ISMS as a delegate and former chair of the Council on Medical Service, and currently as a Board consultant to the Governmental Affairs Council and the Committee on Drugs and Therapeutics.  He recently served as president of the Chicago Medical Society.

Dr. Busch has served also as president of the Illinois Psychiatric Society and as IPS representative to the Assembly of the American Psychiatric Association. In a separate capacity, Dr. Busch currently serves as chair of the health care advisory council for Congressman Mike Quigley and chair of the mental health advisory committee for Congressman Danny K. Davis.
