Free CME directory

A recent resolution of the ISMS House of Delegates called on ISMS to review the availability and affordability of AMA PRA Category™ continuing medical education (CME) for retired physicians. A number of accredited providers in Illinois indicated that they do provide CME opportunities for retired physicians, and ISMS is pleased to provide a list of those state providers and contact information for them. 

In addition, physicians can go to www.cmelist.com for an extensive listing of on-line sites that offer CME activities.  Fees for these sites vary from no charge (the majority of sites), to fees based on the number of credits per activity.  In addition, medical journals, such as the Journal of the American Medical Association or the New England Journal of Medicine make journal-based CME activities available to subscribers.  Finally, a number of  specialty society have web sites, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics www.aap.org , the American Society for Internal Medicine/American College of Physicians http://www.acponline.org, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology http://www.acog.org, and the American Academy of Family Physicians www.aafp.org  which allow physicians to access on-line CME, usually at no charge to their members.
