Radon in the Home

Is the air in your house safe to breathe?

Radon is a cancer-causing natural radioactive gas that you can’t see, smell or taste. It enters our homes through cracks, sump pumps and soil in crawl spaces.

According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, exposure to radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer. Keep your family safe by testing your home for radon this winter season. It is easy and inexpensive.

To buy a kit for a $10 donation to the American Lung Association of Illinois visit here. You can also purchase a home test kit at most home improvement stores.
