Illinois Doctors Meet to Discuss Policy and Public Health Issues
Who: Physician delegates from across Illinois, responsible for setting policy for the Illinois State Medical Society.
What: Debate and take action on:
- Public health issues: health care access, flu vaccine availability, and public safety;
- Physician advocacy topics: Medicare reimbursement rates and continued medical litigation
reform efforts; - Patient education on medical issues; and
- Election of ISMS officers for 2006-2007.
When: April 7-8, 2006 (Friday-Saturday)

Afternoon – ISMS President’s Address: Outgoing President Craig A. Backs, M.D., will address
the House of Delegates.
Saturday April 8, 2006
7:00 a.m. – Illinois State Senator Peter Roskam will speak during the ISMS Public Affairs
Breakfast.
8:30 a.m. – ISMS House of Delegates; floor deliberations on resolutions.
Afternoon - President’s Address: Incoming President Peter E. Eupierre, M.D., will address the
House of Delegates.
Results of the resolution and election processes will be available.
ISMS is a professional membership association representing over 14,000 physicians in all specialties statewide.
