SKOKIE PHYSICIAN NAMED CHAIR,
ILLINOIS STATE MEDICAL SOCIETY
Springfield -- Richard A. Geline, M.D., was re-elected chair of the Illinois State Medical Society (ISMS) at its recent annual meeting held in Springfield.
Dr. Geline is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon who practices medicine at Rush North Shore Medical Center, St. Francis Hospital and at Illinois Masonic Medical Center, where he was president of the medical staff from 1991-1992.
In 1998, Dr. Geline served as president of ISMS. He has been an ISMS House of Delegates member since 1985, and served on ISMS’ Governmental Affairs Council and Finance Committee, which he chaired in 1996. Locally, Dr. Geline is a member and past president of the Chicago Medical Society, where he served as secretary, treasurer and president of the North Side Branch. Dr. Geline is also a member of the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Illinois Association of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Geline received his medical degree from the University of Wisconsin Medical School in Madison. He performed an orthopedic residency at both The University of Chicago Hospitals and Cook County Hospital.
ISMS is a professional membership association representing over 14,000 physicians practicing in all specialties statewide. The annual meeting of ISMS was held in Springfield, IL on April 15-16, 2005.
