Brief Biographical Information:
Board-certified in internal medicine, Dr. Werner is vice president of clinical transformation and designated institutional officer at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago. He is also a clinical associate professor of medicine at the UIC College of Medicine and has practiced internal medicine for 30 years on the north side of Chicago.
After receiving his undergraduate degree cum laude from North Park College in Chicago, Dr. Werner graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and the UIC School of Public Health. He interned at the University of Illinois Hospital and Veterans Administration Hospital and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Illinois Hospital.
Professional Involvement:
Dr. Werner is past president of the Chicago Medical Society and the Chicago Society of Internal Medicine. He has served on the ISMS Committee on Continuing Medical Education (CME) Accreditation and the Committee on CME Activities, and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Institute of Medicine of Chicago. He is also a member of the American Medical Association, to which he is an alternate delegate, and the American Public Health Association.
