Brief Biographical Information:

A board-certified psychiatrist, Dr. Swaminathan is the medical director of the Department of Psychiatry at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, in addition to his full-time practice. He is also a clinical associate professor at the University of Illinois College of Medicine.

Dr. Swaminathan received his medical degree from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi. He completed his residency at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago and his internship at Cook County Hospital in Chicago.

Professional Involvement:

Dr. Swaminathan has been a member of ISMS since 1990, serving as its president from 2008-2009. He served as president of the Chicago Medical Society from 2006-2007. He has also served as president of the Indian American Medical Association and the Illinois Psychiatric Society, and is an alternate delegate to the American Medical Association.
