Brief Biographical Information:
Dr. Anderson is dually board-certified in surgery and thoracic surgery, and is a member of the Peoria Surgical Group. He is a member of the medical staff at Methodist Medical Center of Illinois, OSF Saint Francis Medical Center, Perry Memorial Hospital and Proctor Hospital. He holds multiple academic positions with the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria, including chief of the section of cardiothoracic surgery.
Dr. Anderson received his medical degree from the Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and a fellowship at Washington University’s Barnes Hospital.
Professional Involvement:
Active with ISMS since 1989, Dr. Anderson has served as a member of the Peoria Delegation to the ISMS House of Delegates and is currently a Board consultant to the Medical Legal Council. He belongs to the Peoria Medical Society, where he has served in numerous positions, including two terms as president. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, currently serving as president of its Illinois Chapter. He is also a member of the American Cancer Society and the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
