Brief Biographical Information:
A specialist in internal medicine, Dr. Borda is the president and medical director at Lakeview Medical Center and Consultants, Ltd., in Chicago. He serves on the medical staff at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center and St. Mary of Nazareth Medical Center, where he was chief of internal medicine from 1991-1997. Dr. Borda has been a clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago since 1997.
Dr. Borda received his undergraduate degree from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines, and his medical degree from Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines. He completed his residency training at Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital, Chicago, and Sinai Hospital of Detroit, Michigan.
Professional Involvement:
Dr. Borda currently serves ISMS as Board consultant to the Committee on Drugs and Therapeutics. He is a member of the Chicago Medical Society, where he has served as a district officer, a member of the Board of Trustees, and vice-chairman of the Board from 2009-2011. He is also a lifetime member of the American Medical Association.
Dr. Borda served as president of the Far Eastern University Medical School Alumni Association of Northern Illinois from 2001-2003 and received its Most Outstanding Alumnus Award. Dr. Borda has been president of the Philippine Medical Association of Chicago (PMAC) and travels each year with its “Yearly Medical Mission” to the Philippines. Dr. Borda was voted “Most Distinguished Physician of the Year” by PMAC in 2010.
