Brief Biographical Information:
Dr. Loiterman is a diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and fellow of the American College of Surgeons, specializing in vascular surgery. Dr. Loiterman’s medical practice is located in La Grange. He is on active staff at La Grange Memorial and Hinsdale hospitals. Dr. Loiterman received appointment as a clinical assistant professor of surgery at the University of Illinois College of Medicine in Chicago in 1987.
Dr. Loiterman graduated from the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his internship and residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center, where he served as chief resident in surgery. He subsequently completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at Rush Medical College and a fellowship in thoracic surgery at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital of Columbia University in New York City.
Professional Involvement:
Dr. Loiterman has been an ISMS member since 1986, currently serving as Board consultant to the Council on Communications and as an alternate delegate to the AMA. Prior to being elected trustee, he served on the ISMS Council on Economics, the Medical Legal Council and the Governmental Affairs Council. He is a diplomate of the National Board of Medical Examiners.
Dr. Loiterman is a member of the Chicago Medical Society and has served as its president (2010-2011), on the CMS Board of Trustees and as chair of its Council.
