Dr. David Fletcher is a 1976 graduate of the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. He completed medical school in 1979 at Rush Medical School, Chicago. He continued his education getting his masters in Public Health at the University of California, Berkley in 1982.
Dr. Fletcher is dual certified in both Occupational and Preventive Medicine. In 1988, he also received certification as a Federal Aviation Administration Senior Medical Examiner (FAA-AME).
Dr. Fletcher is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Central States Occupational Medical Association, and the Illinois State Medical Society.
He has been the director of a section of Occupational and Preventive Medicine at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine since 1990, delivering several lectures per year.
He has also served as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine and Southern Illinois University, School of Medicine.
Dr. Fletcher served on the Macon County Health Board from 1990-1995. He was also a member of the Junior Achievement Board of Directors in 2001. He currently serves as a foundation board member for Provena Covenant Medical Center.
In 2002, he was recertified as a Medical Review Officer (Drug/Testing Addictionology) and in March of 2004 he became certified as a Substance Abuse Professional. In addition, Dr. Fletcher is a certified Independent Medical Examiner.
