Medicare and Illinois Medicaid provide financial incentives for those physicians implementing and demonstrating meaningful use of Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for years 2011 through 2014.

NEW: MEDICAID REGISTRATION & ATTESTATION
ILLINOIS MEDICAID ELIGIBLE PROVIDER ATTESTATION USER GUIDE
- Obtain your EHR's Certification Identification Number
- Register to Attest via CMS' web site
- Review the Path to Payment web site for Illinois Medicaid Meaningful Use
- Use the Illinois Medicaid Patient Volume Worksheet to calculate your Medicaid patient volume
- Access the Individual NPI patient volume calculation list for Title XIX patients
- Access List of patient volume by county for Title XIX patients (group calculations)
- Work with your EHR vendor to make certain your system captures Core, Menu, and Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) that will be used by Medicaid during additional stages
- Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) do not have to be calculated for Medicaid Stage I Meaningful Use
- Attest via MEDICAID by using the MEDI system (simple attestation is all that is necessary to meet Medicaid Stage I Meaningful Use requirements)
- Medicaid Meaningful Use incentive payments are made within 45 days of successful attestation.
MEDICARE REGISTRATION & ATTESTATION
- Obtain your EHR's Certification Identification Number
- Register via CMS' web site
- Work with your EHR vendor to make certain your system captures Core, Menu, and Clinical Quality Measures (CQMs) needed to complete the attestation process for Medicare
- Attest via CMS' web site using the EHR report(s) received from your EHR vendor
- Medicare Meaningful Use incentive payments are made within 4 to 8 weeks of successful attestation.
