A recent resolution of the ISMS House of Delegates called on ISMS to review the availability and affordability of AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ activities for retired physicians. We are pleased to provide the following list of resources in response to this resolution:
- www.cmelist.com provides an extensive listing of online sites offering CME activities. The majority of these are free, however some sites may charge a fee based on the number of credits awarded.
- www.cmejama-archives.ama-assn.org provides CME for members of the American Medical Association.
- The New England Journal of Medicine makes journal-based CME activities available to subscribers at www.nejm.org. Non-subscribers pay a small fee for each activity.
- A number of specialty societies have links to online education, such as the American Academy of Pediatrics www.aap.org, the American College of Physicians http://www.acponline.org, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecology http://www.acog.org, and the American Academy of Family Physicians www.aafp.org.
- www.clevelandclinicmeded.com offers a variety of free journal-based CME and webcasts.
- Many ISMS accredited providers allow physicians who are not on their medical staffs to attend their live CME activities. For a list of ISMS accredited providers and their contact information, please click on Accredited CME Providers Directory, located on the left side of this page.
