Physician Assistance/Wellness Programs

Many hospitals have employee assistance programs designed to help individuals identify and resolve a broad range of employee personal concerns that may affect job performance. These programs deal with situations such as substance abuse, marital problems, family troubles, stress, and domestic violence.

If you are a medical student or resident member of the Illinois State Medical Society, you can participate, without charge, in the Illinois Professionals Health Program (IPHP).

For more information about IPHP and the services it offers, go to www.advocatehealth.com/IPHP.

If you are not an ISMS member, contact your organization’s Human Resources Department to find out if there is an employee assistance program available to students or residents.
