The ISMS Medical Student Section (MSS) assures medical and osteopathic member students from throughout Illinois are represented with the Illinois State Medical Society and the American Medical Association.
This is accomplished through active participation to bring the student voice and opinion to the table on issues related to medical education, health care and the future of the medical profession.As members, students have the opportunity to participate and be a part of the discussions and deliberations that shape their medical career.
The ISMS MSS activities are directed through its governing council, which consists of student members from each medical and osteopathic school and campus in Illinois. It is comprised of elected officers, a delegate and alternate delegate from each school (campus) in Illinois, and student member representatives to ISMS councils. Each school’s delegate and alternate delegate also serve in the same positions representing their school at meetings of the AMA Medical Student Section Assembly.
